1. Daw Kyu Kyu San, Secretary (temporary) of Organising Committee of

NLD, Sanchaung township, Rangoon Division, and a member of the Women

Support Group of the Divisional NLD of the Rangoon Division was

forcefully arrested and led away on 12 February 1999 at 22:00 hours by

the MI and members of the ward Administration (totaling about 30). No

reason was shown and her illegal arrest and show of force against a

women is not warranted.

2. Daw Kyu Kyu San's husband was illegally arrested and has been

incarcerated for a long period of time till the date.

3. As no cause was shown or information given it must be presumed that

this is an illegal arrest. We urge that she be immediately set free.
